Dr. Rer. Nat. Taseer Ahmad Khan Bashir (born in Karachi, Pakistan) is a health professional and an international humanity and community contributor. He contributed towards tackling number of international humanitarian challenges e.g., famines in Ethiopia, Afghan refugees, poverty in Pakistan and floods in Bangladesh, etc. Born and lived for the early part of his life in Pakistan and belonging to a small community facing persistent persecution in the hands of religious extremists, his role towards poverty stricken communities since a young age is worth mentioning.

Background and education

Taseer grew up in a small town of central Punjab. He attained the professional graduation in Veterinary Medicines and a Masters(Hons) in Microbiology from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He was twice awarded the DAAD fellowship by an independent board of German Professors to undertake the degree of Doctor Rerum Naturarum from Kaiserslautern University of Technology in Molecular Genetics/Epidemiology. He also attended a number of graduate and postgraduate programs including University of the Punjab, Goethe Institut, Freiburg, TAFE NSW, Deakin University School of Medicine, to attain higher expertise in his profession and allied sciences.

Humanitarian, youth and community contributions

Taseer played a founding role in materialising a number of vital humanitarian, youth and community projects and initiatives worldwide and has and is working with organisations for example, the Hunger Fighters, Rotaract Club, Edhi Foundation, Prisoners Welfare Project, Prisoners Aid, Pakistan National Council of the Arts, Galaxy of Youth, World Vision, Red Cross, Nusrat Jehan Stride Forward, Humanity First, Heart Foundation, Fred Hollows Foundation, Cancer Council Australia and a number of youth promotion societies, etc.

His services to humanity are formally recognised by a number of notables including the President of Pakistan and the Governor of Punjab and a range of community and news organizations.
