Early life
Tara Sutaria was born in Mumbai, India. She is trained in classical ballet, modern dance and Latin American dances at the School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance, Royal Academy of Dance, U.K and the I.S.T.D (Imperial Society for Teachers of Dancing, U.K). She has been a professional singer since she was seven years old, having sung in operas and competitions since then.
Career
Tara started her association with Disney as a VJ and continued to be associated with them, having two hit sitcoms to her credit. She has also been recording music in India and abroad for films, advertisements, and her own original work. Tara has sung for acclaimed films such as Taare Zameen Par, Guzaarish and David. Her Song "Slippin' Through My Fingers" is part of the Ashwin Gidwani Production of Bharat Dhabholkar's Blame It On Yashraj. She has also played the lead role, " Sandy " in Raell Padamsee's production of the musical, " GREASE ". She has recorded and performed solo concerts in London, Tokyo, Lavasa, Mumbai and has toured India with Disney Channel, as a VJ and ambassador.
She has performed with Louiz Banks, Mikey McCleary and has also been a soloist for the Stop-Gaps Choral Ensemble, singing at the NCPA for over a decade. She has toured across India with the Disney Channel, and was a VJ for Disney's Big Bada Boom in 2010.
She was one of the top seven finalists of the 2008 "Pogo Amazing Kids Awards", in the singer category. She is also playing the role of Jassie in the Disney channel India original series Oye Jassie!
As per June 2017, she was being considered to play the role of Princess Jasmine in Guy Ritchie's live-action remake of 1990's Aladdin, as the makers wanted young Middle-Eastern Actors. Sutaira had given an audition and was shortlisted amongst many girls who gave the audition. However, it was announced that Naomi Scott will be playing the role.
It's a rumor that she is being considered for the lead role in Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 opposite Tiger Shroff. but she is not a choice for the movie. she is also considered as indian miley cyrus.tara is a opera singer too and she sang "i'll always love you","i'll survive".
