Biography

Poremba was born in the US and lives in Chicago, Illinois. She currently works as a police officer and K-9 handler.

Poremba didn't have any firearms experience when she grew up. At some point, she decided to join the US Marine Corps, which was the first time she fired a gun. After that, she became a police officer. When she was a recruit, she participated in the Top Gun competition at the academy and was the first female officer to win it.
In 2010, Poremba appeared in the first season of History Channel's marksmen competition Top Shot. During the first half of the competition, Poremba competed as part of the Blue Team. Her team ended up winning five challenges, and Tara was never nominated for elimination during that period. However, she decided to leave the competition after receiving news that her father was critically ill due to lung cancer. During an epilogue on the season finale, a note stated that he had died.
