Tanymykter is an extinct genus of terrestrial herbivore in the family Camelidae, endemic to North America during the Miocene 23.030—20.6 mya, existing for approximately 2.43 million years.

Tanymykter was named by Honey and Taylor (1978). It was assigned to Camelidae by Honey and Taylor (1978) and Carroll (1988).
