History

The sports club was a 1938 merger of MTV Eintracht Ahlten, founded on 26 October 1896, and FC Wacker Ahlten, also founded in 1920. Wacker was later renamed to SV 20 Ahlten. Initially, it was known as TSV Germania Ahlten, and in 1946, adopted the present name.

The TSG footballers were and have been competitive mainly in local, lower leagues in the Hanover region throughout most of their existence, never reaching levels higher than the Bezirksliga in the Lower Saxonian league pyramid. The men's senior side now plays in the 1. Kreisklasse Hannover-Land (IX).

Other sports

In addition to football, TSG has other sections in gymnastics, athletics, fitness, dancing, table tennis, and volleyball.
