History

Born 25 years ago from a strong desire to provide the community with education and training, TAV College began as an affiliate of Champlain College but is now a private CEGEP recognized and accredited for subsidies from the Quebec Ministry of Education. TAV was founded by Abraham Boyarsky, a professor in Concordia’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics.

Mission Statement

TAV prides itself on being a multicultural institution, where students from diverse backgrounds contribute to a rich and fulfilling educational experience. The aim of TAV College is to help individuals realize their full potential, academically and personally, while respecting their cultural and ethnic diversity. Broader goals are to establish the college as a community resource center for lifelong learning and to train people who are competent, responsible, and well integrated into Quebec society. TAV emphasizes excellence in teaching and academic standards and encourages interaction between faculty and students.

Programs

TAV College offers two types of programs: pre-university and career/technical. Pre-university programs take two to three years to complete and cover subject matter that roughly corresponds to the additional year of high school given elsewhere in Canada, as well as university-level introductory courses that prepare students for their chosen field in university.
