T. R. Abhilashi Memorial Institute Of Engineering And Technology (TRAMIET) is a private engineering institution established in the year 2009, situated in the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh & affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Technical University & Himachal Pradesh University.

Location

Institute is located 200 km from Chandigarh via National Highway 21 (India), 140 km from Shimla towards Manali.

History

Looking at the dearth and demand in the field of higher, professional and quality education and also keeping in view the needs and sentiments of the local people of Ner Chowk, the final proposal of Abhilashi Educational Society was completed on 12 December 2000. The origin of the society is a brainchild of distinguished and exhaustive efforts of senior educationists of the region. The foundation stone of the society was laid down on 21 May 2001 by Late Sh. Tulsi Ram Abhilashi, Retd. Headmaster, who is also its founder father. The society is running multi-faculties viz. Sr. Sec. School, B.Pharmacy course, B.Sc.(Bio-Technology), B.P.E.(3 years), BCA, BBA, B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Sc.(Bio-Tech. & Microbiology) and different diploma courses. The college was started in 2009 and it took its first batch of students in 3 disciplines then affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Later it came under Himachal Pradesh Technical University after the latter was formed. It is AICTE Approved.

The college imparts NAAC accredited undergraduate courses in six streams of engineering:

Electronics & Communication Engineering

Admissions

Students are admitted through counselling based on Joint Entrance Examination ranks, Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) and Management Quotas.

Facilities

The college has 12 acres (49,000 m²) of campus housing the academic departments as well as providing residential facilities to students and faculty. The campus has class rooms, laboratories, drawing hall, workshops, library, conference hall, and student support facilities like hostels, canteen, stationery shop, medical support, transport. The newer blocks are in progress.

The college has carried out various changes in its infrastructure since its foundation. It has a playground where all the sporting events take place.

TRAMIET has a well stocked modern library with the total books of all the engineering disciplines. The library is kept open for all working days to inculcate habit of reading and acquiring knowledge.

A canteen facility is also available in the campus with wide range of services. Canteen provides all daily requirements of the students on payment basis. It remains open 24 hours on working as well as non-working days. It serves good quality, hygienic food, snakes, tea, coffee, soup and other soft drinks.

Spacious and ventilated class rooms for all batches.

TRAMIET is the proud owner of modern computer centre and a campus wide internet facility with wide band dedicated RF link-2 MBPS. The entire campus in connected with LAN.

The Institute has a fleet of luxury buses for its students. All the buses provide good and relaxed travelling to the students from their respective stations to the college. The Institute has a fleet of 16 buses which bring the students from Mandi, Sunder Nagar, Meramasit, Ner Chowk, Chail Chowk etc., its covers 25 km from the college.

TRAMIET has its own in house dispensary with the residents doctor to attend medical needs to its students. The dispensary is kept open for 24 hours has on all working days. TRAMIET has also its own Ambulance which is available for 24 hours for the students.

Hostels

The TRAMIET provides 3 hostels for its students (2 hostels for boys and one for girls). All the rooms accommodate 2 persons and provide good comfort level to the students.

Hot water and cold water supply is available to seasonal needs.

Common room facilities with indoor games like table-tennis, chess, carom etc. and television set with cable connection.

Well equipped modern mess facility to provide nourshigly and quality food to the resident boys and girls separately.

The hostel rooms are well furnished with bed, study table, chairs and four etc.

Management and organization

The college is managed by Abhilashi Educational Society.

Life at TRAMIET

College marks presence of students from different states of India. Most of them belong to the state of Himachal Pradesh. Daily classes are held from 10:00 to 16:15 hrs. There is a student-led organization named UV Club (Unique Vision Club) in the college which is an extra curricular activities organizing club. HillFest is an annual two Day Technical Festival being organized by student's body of the Institute since 2011.
