Synechogobius is a genus of fish in the goby family, Gobiidae. They are native to fresh, marine and brackish waters along the Pacific coasts of China, Japan and Korea. S. hasta is an edible species of commercial importance.

There are currently two recognized species in this genus:

  • Synechogobius hasta (Temminck & Schlegel, 1845) (Javelin goby)
  • Synechogobius ommaturus (J. Richardson, 1845) (Asian freshwater goby, spottedtail goby)
