Sylvie Hoarau (born 28 June 1970) is a French singer and songwriter.

Biography

Hoarau was born on 28 June 1970 in Rouen. Growing up she was introduced to Creole cuisine and the Beatles by her father. She lived in Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf until she was twenty. She moved to the city of Caen in 1991 and started a trio called Topaz with Greg Dorey and his friend Stéphane Maume. After moving to Paris in 1996, the band grew to include bassist Jerome Makles Vendetta and was active for the next ten years. After separating in the mid-2000s, Sylvie Hoarau started Brigitte with Aurélie Saada. The duo won the "Group or artist revelation scene" award at the 2012 Victoires de la musique.
Sylvie Hoarau has written for several artists.

Hoarau has collaborated with the band Rivière Noire's. She is featured on the track "London Paris" from the album Rivière Noire.
