Syed faqruddin ali ahmed
Syed Faqruddin Ali Ahmed (Urdu: سید فخر الدين علی احمد) is the State Secretary of Welfare Party of India, Andhra Pradesh and currently heads Greater Hyderabad City activities of the party. He graduated in sciences from Kakatiya University in 1999, and holds Masters in Computer Application (MCA) degree from Osmania University and M. Tech from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

Syed faqruddin ali ahmed
Academic background
Mr. Faqruddin attended school at St. Joseph’s High School in 1994. While being a school student he participated in numerous extra-curricular activities. He had been School Pupil Leader, and was part of special training in Monfortian Youth Leadership in Society (MYLS). During graduation, he was Student Leader in All India Students Federation, Basket Ball Captain at University Level and a Senior Under Officer in India’s National Cadet Corps. He worked for MNCs as writer, and served as a faculty at Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI).
Leadership roles
Mr. Faqruddin was actively involved in Students Islamic Organisation of India activities. He served in different leadership roles in SIO, including Central Advisory Council (CAC) member, Zonal Advisory Council (ZAC) member, City President (Hyderabad) and Zonal Campus Secretary (AP). He also served as State President of Ideal Youth Movement (IYM). Being a student leader, Mr Faqruddin delivered numerous lectures and participated in various city and state level academic debates. He gave lecture at India’s premier institution Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Also he led North India Caravan on the occasion of 25 Years of Students Islamic Organisation of India.
Activism
Mr. Faqruddin led the students agitation against a lecturer of St. Ann's College for Women for her targeting the religious sentiments of Muslim community and the management’s unapologetic conduct. Both SIO and GIO demanded her immediate dismissal and also requested the government to bar her from being eligible for teaching in the future.
Telangana movement
As part of Welfare Party of India, Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Faqruddin said during a celebration program after Parliament gave clearance to T-Bill that the demand for separate state by the people of Telangana region was a decades-old one. He supported Telangana movement since his SIO days and called the demand for separate state as “just” and remembered sacrifices made by students and youth during the struggle for Telangana.
2014 elections
Mr. Faqruddin is contesting for Member of the Legislative Assembly (India) seat from Amberpet Constituency in Hyderabad against incumbent MLA & Bharatiya Janata Party state president G. Kishan Reddy. He lashed out at G. Kishan Reddy for neglecting people and their concerns, and criticized him for not developing the constituency despite being a representative for last ten years.
