SwiftKanban is a visual project management tool based on the Kanban Method. SwiftKanban helps software or IT organizations or any other business functions like HR, sales, marketing, procurement, legal, construction, insurance to adopt Agile/Lean principles to manage their work. It assists organization both during the early Kanban adoption phase and also during the phase of scaling when distributed teams need to be engaged and availability of metrics becomes critical for continuous improvement.

It is developed and maintained by Digite, a company with expertise in developing Lean and Agile ALM products. David J. Anderson, founder of the Kanban Method for software, is an advisor to the SwiftKanban team.

Main features

  • Visual Management of work using Kanban Board: Various Visual Paradigms can be used to manage the flow of work items through various visual cues (Card Colors, WIP limit violation, etc.) in a drag-n-drop interface.
  • Process definition ease: visual representation of workflow stages, work categorization into various workspace, smart-lanes, document attachment, rich text editor and configurable text editor to build work cards.
  • Collaboration: Offline collaboration is possible by exporting cards, editing them as and when needed and then uploading them back. Foster Collaboration with threaded discussions throughout the application. Global Search feature helps to quickly locate and access a particular card on the board or across various other boards
  • Reports and Dashboards: Bottleneck can be identified and resolved by visually highlighting them. Metrics such as Lead Time, Cycle Time and Wait Times can be easily tracked. Cumulative Flow diagrams, personalized dashboards, control charts and distribution charts, etc.
  • Scrum Features: SwiftKanban also incorporates Scrum features like release planning, user story hierarchy, time tracking, burn-down charts, throughput/velocity tracking.
  • Integration: SOAP based webservice APIs enable Enterprises seamlessly integrate SwiftKanban with their existing IT infrastructure. Issue management and Helpdesk operations can be brought to Kanban Board through integration between SwiftKanban and Atlassian JIRA.
  • Mobile Access: SwiftKanban website is optimized for mobile devices
