Swarnachamaram is an unreleased 1996 Malayalam-language Indian feature film directed by Rajeevnath, starring Mohanlal, Sivaji Ganesan and in the leading roles.

Plot

Swarnachamaram is the story of two friends, Mohanlal and Sivaji Ganesan and the happenings in their life. The film had a tragic climax where Mercy killing takes place.

Swarnachamaram was the most hyped project of Malayalam-language of 95'96 season along with Priyadarshan' s Kaalapani. It also marked the return of Sivaji Ganesan to Malayalam films after Thacholi Ambu, which was released in 1978. Unfortunately Swarnachamaram was dropped due to creative difference on the subject Mercy killing. So producer V.B.K.Menon used the same dates and completed another film Oru Yathramozhi starring Sivaji Ganesan and Mohanlal directed by Prathap K. Pothan.
Soundtrack
The lyrics for all songs was written by K. Jayakumar, while Sivaji Ganesan presented all the songs. The audio cassette was released by Johny Sagarika audios.
Unreleased
The film is yet to have a theatrical release as the makers abandoned the project.
