History
Suttur Mutt has a history of 1,000 years. Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Mahavidyapeetha established this ashram in 1954. Suttur Mutt runs more than 300 educational institutions in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Some of the schools are located in north India and outside the country. The present Pontiff Jagadguru Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji is the President of Mahavidyapeetha.
