SUMAS is based in the headquarters of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Gland, a small town by Lac Leman, one of the largest inland lakes in Europe, in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. It is half way between Geneva and Lausanne.

The aim of the full-time (one year) or part-time (two years) Master of Business Administration in Sustainability Management is to offer a predominantly professionally oriented education that addresses sustainability challenges facing leaders in today’s complex work patterns.
