Suraj narredu
Suraj Narredu (born 7 February 1985) is an Indian jockey. He started riding at the BARI riding school in Bangalore at the age of 12. This school has produced top Indian jockeys like Y. S. Srinath and K.P.G. Appu. His father and uncle did not approve of his getting into the game, probably because they knew how fickle this sport can be but nevertheless, Suraj decided to go ahead and become a jockey as a teenager.

Narredu is a big fan of Italian jockey Frankie Dettori. Dettori's 'Magnificent 7' tape where he won the entire race card at Royal Ascot racecourse in 1996 is the most inspiring moment for Suraj. Apart from being one of India's youngest jockey to notch up a 1000-winners, Suraj also wants to emulate Dettori's race card. By 2010 he had more than 1400 winners in his kitty, and also won the Young Achievers 2010 Award by Brigade Group & Rotary Bangalore Midtown.
