The Sumter Braves were a minor league baseball team located in Sumter, South Carolina. The team played in the South Atlantic League, and were affiliated with the Atlanta Braves. Their home stadium was Riley Park. In 1991, the team moved to Macon, Georgia and became known as the Macon Braves, the team is now called the Rome Braves and currently play in Rome, Georgia.

An expansion team was awarded to Sumter right after the Sumter Braves relocated to Macon and the new team affiliated with the Montreal Expos, the new franchise that is not a continuation of the Sumter Braves became known as the Sumter Flyers. The following year the Flyers left Sumter and relocated to Albany, Georgia to become the Albany Polecats, from 1992 until 1996. The former Flyers/Polecats still exists today as the current-day Delmarva Shorebirds, located in Salisbury, Maryland.
