The Sullivan Mountain Lions were a minor-league baseball team based in Mountaindale, New York. The team got its name from Sullivan County, the location of Monuntaindale. The Mountain Lions played in the inaugural season of the Northeast League n/k/a the Can-Am League, an independent league that is not affiliated with Major League Baseball or Minor League Baseball. The team existed for just one season 1995.
The Mountain Lions were owned by Jay Acton and played their home games at Baxter Field. They were one of the six original teams of the Northeast League. They would finish their only season with a record of 23–43 which placed them fifth in the six team league.
The team was highlighted by pitcher and former Major Leaguer, Floyd Youmans, who pitched in two games for the team. The Mountain Lions would finish last in the league in runs per game with just 4.02 and second to last in the league with an ERA of 6.15. The team had several players make all league, with Chris Kokinda winning the league batting title at .395 and reliever Chris Sinacori leading the league in saves with 13. Other notable players were Hiram Torres (NYY), Gold Glove Second Baseman Matt Hannon (SJU) and David Perry.
