Along with the U.S. Armed Forces, CIA paramilitary operative Matt Garrett faces growing Islamic extremism, the reemergence of the Empire of the Sun in the Global War on Terror, and a secret group of "defense politicos" in Washington D.C.
Development History
Tata dedicated this book to three of his fallen comrades. He had served with them during his time in the United States Army. Two of the soldiers were killed in Iraq. The other was killed in Afghanistan.
Reception
Sudden Threat has gotten positive reviews. W.H. McDonald Jr., founder of Military Writer's Society of America, wrote, "There is enough action, suspense, intrigue, death, destruction, and dangerous politics for four novels!" It has been described as "fast-paced" and "well-crafted." NY Times bestselling author Brad Thor called Tata, "The new Tom Clancy," and praised him for his "electrifying" novel.
In 2009, Tata donated all the royalties from his book to the United Services Organization Hospital Services Fund. In all $15,000 was raised and went toward helping wounded soldiers and their families.
