Subaru Tecnica International (スバルテクニカインターナショナル株式会社, Subaru Tekunika Intānashonaru Kabushiki-gaisha)Subaru's performance line ''STI'' was established in 1988 by Fuji Heavy Industries, The first countries to own the car

Contents

were Japan, Australia, and the UK in 1994, since Subaru won the World Rally Championship in both 2001 and 2003, it made it the most hyped vehicle on the market.. Subaru came out the more aggressively tuned WRX, as a result of that

what had begun happening here in the United states, Subaru enthusiasts begun turbocharging regular Impresa's, and Subaru had responded in making the limited production Impresa WRX-STI sedan at 300 hp and 210 foot pounds feet of

torque which did not arrived in the U.S. up until 2004 with a base price tag of $32-$35,000, depending on limited options that included performance and comfort. The standard option included Blue exterior with Gold rims that is equipped with

17 inch wheels. Racing Rambo brakes, which are the most high performance racing brakes on the market, the boxer motor with a 2.5 Liter, turbo charged, four cylinder engine being as fast, with a top speed of 140 Miles per hour (MPH).

300 (HP) which does not seem like that much into days world of speed is a ton for this little sedan weighting just slightly over 3,200 pounds. This car was able to hit 0-60 in the matter of 4.5 seconds, compared to todays fastest which is 0-60 in

2.9 seconds. The official STI's badge/Logo color is "Cherry Blossom Red" (or "Rubin Red" as it is known in Australia.) It is seen as a masculine color in Japanese culture. Subaru had struggled with interior design of theses cars, and Japanize

auto makers in general up until 2015 when they finally redesigned both interior and exterior, of all three performance models. The 2004 WRX STI was limited to 7,2010 models being made total in the world, Now just to clarify the Subaru WRX

and the Subaru WRX, STI are two different models, it wasn't up until 2015 where the WRX became its own, people always refed to the top performer as ''Subaru WRX STI''. Today just Subaru STI on top with 305 HP, the WRX with 268, and the BRZ available in 200 in the automatic and 205 in the manual transmission.

Also lastly with the BRZ, Subaru enthusiasts have been dying for the manufacture to put the STI engine in the BRZ, is is a very lightweight car, that would give it so much extra power, and the fear is that the WRX will become out of date and no use for sale, although there are prototypes online and found at Auto shows all over the globe, Subaru has yet to make it official, however there is some speculation it will be ready by the summer of 2018.

Subaru models with STI trim

The Subaru Impreza WRX and the Subaru Legacy B4 both come in high performance STI editions (formerly capitalized "STi" before the 2006 model year), designed by STI. The STI offers many advantages over the WRX, such as a six-speed manual transmission with a helical (Suretrac in '04 models) limited slip front differential, driver controlled center differential(DCCD), IHI VF39 turbocharger (VF43 in 2007, VF48 from 2008 on), BBS lightweight alloy wheels, a mechanical rear limited slip differential and Brembo brakes. The 2.5 litre engine (designated EJ257) 280PS with 40.0kgfm of torque. The WRX STI has Recaro style bucket seats and a MOMO steering wheel. STI also designs upgraded parts, mostly suspension related, for use on other Subaru vehicles. STI versions of the Impreza, Forester and the Subaru Legacy have been marketed as limited edition vehicles in certain markets. The WRX STI was the first and only STI vehicle made available to North American consumers to date. For other markets, STI also released Legacies kitted out in full STI trim, they are rare and sought after by Subaru enthusiasts. They were only released new in Japan (JDM) and New Zealand (NZDM). In 2016 an STI kit was built for the redesigned Crosstrek models which included STI branded wheels, hatchback spoiler, and shift knobs for both automatic and manual variants.
