Study Hall School

Study Hall School is an English medium co-educational Secondary School, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education is situated in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. Established in 1986 under the aegis of Study Hall Educational Foundation; founded by Dr. Urvashi Sahni an alumnus of University of California Berkeley . Originally Study Hall was an initiative started by Dr. Sahni at her home to provide education to poor children through Digital Media.

Today the school has a strength of over 2000 students who are being imparted education up to class XII standard in various streams. Study Hall works in tandem with the three interlinked goals of access, quality and equity and believes in inclusive education. Study Hall also imparts education to children with special needs, children born with physical and psychological challenges under the DOSTI program.

The Study Hall School is divided into two sub division:- 1.)The Prep School:- The Prep School is an educational institution which provide education from Playgroup to UKG(Prep). It is headed by a subordinate Principal. Mrs. Shashi Singh is the current Principal succeceding Mrs. Das . 2.)Study Hall:- It is once again divided into i)Junior Wing (Class 1 to 5) :- Headed by subordinate "Head Master/Mistress". Mrs. Bani Malhotra is the current holder of the post succeeding Mrs. Shalini Chandra. ii)Senior Wing(Class 6 to 12):- Headed by the Principal of Study Hall School . As mentioned earlier Principal , Prep School and Head Mistress are subordinate to Principal ,Study Hall though both are independent in taking their decisions. Mrs. Shalini Sinha is incumbent as Principal of Study Hall completing her tenure of 5 years in 2017. She succeeded Mr. Kevin Arnold Da Costa in 2012.

Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) was established with the objective of imparting quality education to children.

The main aim of Study Hall Educational Foundation is to work towards realising the constitutional injunction to provide good quality education to all children in India. It will do so by establishing high quality primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in rural and urban settings all over India, by adopting and helping other schools, to achieve higher quality, by working with the State and Central Government and other NGO's in the areas of curricular enrichment and reform, teacher education, research in innovative education. It will keep a special focus on reaching undeserved parts of the population, like girls, children from low socio-economic backgrounds in rural and urban regions, children with special needs, adults deprived of an education due to their difficult economic and social circumstance

The Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) is currently touching the lives of thousands of children and hundreds of teachers through its several institutions, programs and interventions.
