History

Sts. Cyril and Methodius is Bridgeport's Slovak national parish. This elegant Romanesque Revival church dates from shortly after the founding of the parish in 1905. New York City church architect Joseph A. Jackson designed the building.

Father Stephen Panik, for whom Father Panik Village was named, was the pastor from the early 1930s to his death in 1953.

Materials and records from this church are integral to the St. Stephen's Society and the National Slovak Society. The Church itself was established by the St. Joseph Society,
