History

The New York City Strala studio was founded by Tara Stiles and her husband Michael Taylor in 2008. The name stems from the Swedish word "strĂ¥la" meaning radiate light. The yoga style was first introduced on the YouTube channel belonging to Stiles. Strala has partner studios in Seattle, Singapore and Barcelona, and classes are offered in 20 countries around the world. Partner Gyms that offer Strala are CMG in Paris (30 clubs) and SCLA in the US. Strala has a few thousand Guides leading classes in various studios and clubs globally. Strala is now offered in 20 other countries.
