Stone Canoe is a digital advertising agency in Toronto, Canada. The firm specializes in strategy, interactive design, social media, SEM, motion graphics, and online advertising. The name Stone Canoe was chosen as a metaphor for defying conventional expectations - A canoe made of stone, when properly constructed, will float.

History

Stone Canoe was established as an independent agency in June 2005. It was acquired in November 2013 by The CHR Group, an independent advertising and marketing services holding company based in New York.

Notable Campaigns and Accomplishments

  • Stone Canoe is the creative sponsor for IAB Canada (The Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada) to help organize networking events, and promote digital/interactive advertising.
  • Their HTML5 creation "Merry la Mort" was featured on Adobe, shortlisted on FWA, and was also featured in Chrome Experiments.
  • In 2013, Stone Canoe commissioned a Montreal jewellery designer (Pilar Agueci), and a Montreal metalsmith, (Jacques Gallant), to design and build a stone bike rack. This creation was made to display the meaning behind their company. It serves as a community bike rack, and won an award for "Best Bike Parking"
