The school started as Patricia Stevens College, a finishing college for only women in 1947.

The College is housed in a historic, renovated, four-story building in the loft district area of the west part of downtown St. Louis. Class size is small, with an average of 10 students. 90% are women. The school relocated to its downtown campus in 2010.
