Steve Hoberman (born 1968) is an American computer scientist, data modeler, publisher and trainer, known for his work on data modelling, entitled Data and reality: a timeless perspective on perceiving and managing information in our imprecise world.

Life and work

Hoberman obtained his BA in Computer Science from Queens College, City University of New York in 1990 and his MS in Information Networking from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991.

Hoberman started his career as system engineer for Bell Communications Research in 1990. He was data modeler for Paine Webber from 1994 to 1997, and SAP Functional Analyst from 1997 to 2006. Since 1999 he is working as data modeler and trainer and as publisher of Technics Publications since 2002. In 2012 DAMA awarded him the 2012 DAMA International Professional Achievement Award.
