Personal
Maitland-Lewis is a trustee of the Louis Armstrong House Museum, which is affiliated with Queens College, New York. He is on the advisory board and a former director of the California Jazz Foundation, and also on the Executive Committee of the International Mystery Writers Festival. He and his wife have a home in the New Orleans French Quarter, and have been regular sponsors of the annual Satchmo SummerFest in New Orleans. He is also a collector of ALS (autographed letters, signed) by prominent international literary figures and nobel prize laureates. He has written for the Cobblestone Press as well as for innumerable United States and English publications. He has made many frequent appearances on American radio and television.
