Stella Carey is an American mountain biker and cyclo-cross racer. She is known for racing a single speed mountain bike. She began racing in 1994. She turned professional in 1998. She has raced for Nevada City, California-based Kelly Bicycles since 2001. She won the Single Speed World Championship in 2000 and 2002. She is now a math teacher for Scotts Valley High School in Scotts Valley, California. Stella teaches Pre Calculus, IB Math SL, and Honors Pre Calculus. She has an obsession with owls. Stella has roots in central Connecticut, her Father Stephen, stepmother Marion and her siblings Elizabeth and Stephen B. Carey all hail from New Britain.

Personal life

Although biking is still a hobby and passion, Carey has moved on to teach IB Math at Scotts Valley High School. She has published her own book, Barron's IB Math SL. She is one of the highest level math teachers at SVHS, and enjoys owls.
