Olympics
Rusu has competed in three Olympics, from 1976 to 1984. At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal he received a silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, the lightweight class. At the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow he won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling (lightweight). He received a silver medal in Los Angeles in 1984.
