"Start a Fire" is a single by Polish singer Margaret. The song was released as the second single from her debut studio album Add the Blonde (2014) on 21 August 2014, only in Poland. It was also released as the official song of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship. The song was written by Thomas Karlsson and Mats Tärnfors. The 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship version of the song contains some changes in the lyrics. Also, some English lyrics of the song have been altered with the Polish lyrics written by Małgorzata Jamroży.

The single version of the song peaked at number ten on the Polish Airplay Chart.

Music video

A music video to accompany the release of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship version of "Start a Fire" was released onto YouTube on 27 August 2014. Most of its scenes were filmed in Kraków in Kraków Arena during the 2014 Memorial of Hubert Jerzy Wagner.

A music video to accompany the release of the single version of "Start a Fire" was released onto YouTube on 19 September 2014. It was directed by Olga Czyżykiewicz.

Live performances

Margaret performed "Start a Fire" at the 2014 Memorial of Hubert Jerzy Wagner on 18 August 2014. She also performed the song at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship Opening Ceremony on 30 August in National Stadium in Warsaw, prior to the Poland v. Serbia match. This event was broadcast in over 168 countries.
