Star Awards 2000 is the 8th edition of the annual Star Awards presented by the Television Corporation of Singapore to honour its artistes who work on Channel 8. Technical category awards (Best Director, Best Screenplay, etc.) and the Best Newscaster/Current Affairs Presenter Award were introduced to recognise members of the production team for excellence in their respective jobs and news presenters.
