St. Theodore of Tarsus Mission Hospital, or simply St. Theodore's Hospital, is a missions hospital and the only medical facility located in the Anglican-majority Sagada, Mountain Province. It was established alongside the St. Mary the Virgin Parish Church by the then Missionary District of the Philippines, now the Episcopal Church in the Philippines.

History

St. Theodore's started as a medical mission ministry of Rev. and Mrs. John Staunton, a nurse by profession, in 1903, when they were assigned as missionaries by Bishop Charles Brent to Sagada. This medical ministry and initiative grew into a hospital facility, with the main building built in 1925 to serve the needs of Sagada and the surrounding communities.

Programs

Aside from emergency and primary in-patient assistance, the hospital also conducts alternative medical and dietary programs such as juicing and breathing exercises adapted from yoga. It currently has a partnership with St. Luke's Medical Center, another Anglican-Episcopalian missions hospital.
