St. Paul has a long and rich athletic tradition dating back to the 1960s in such sports as basketball, baseball, and swimming.
The St. Paul girls' basketball team won the 2009-2010 Class S State Championship. The championship game was played at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The St. Paul boys baseball team won the 2015-2016 Class S State Championship. The championship game was played at Palmer Field.
