St John of God Pinelodge Clinic is a division of St John of God Health Care, one of the largest providers of health care services in Australia.

Contents

Established in 1981, the facility is located in Dandenong, Victoria, approximately 31 kilometres southeast of Melbourne’s CBD. The facility was known as Dandenong Pinelodge clinic until 2005.

Pinelodge Clinic offers psychiatric and alcohol & drug programs for inpatients and day patients.

Facilities

Following a major redevelopment in 2000 and a refurbishment in 2009, the hospital houses 54 beds and on-site consulting rooms, as well as laundry, lounge, dining and courtyard facilities for patients.

Services

Pinelodge Clinic provides therapy and treatment programs on an inpatient and day patient basis.

Services and programs include:

  • day patient therapy program
  • inpatient therapy program
  • alcohol & drug dependency recovery treatment program
  • day patient drug & alcohol program
  • individual and group counselling
  • Ermha Origins

In 2007, St John of God Pinelodge Clinic established the Ermha Origins project in partnership with the Eastern Region Mental Health Association (ERMHA).

The project aims to provide greater access to mental health care for people who come from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds in Greater Dandenong.

    Waste reduction initiative

In 2010, Pinelodge Clinic introduced the hospital-wide use of the “Biocup” to reduce the disposal rates of medication drinking cups. Biocups are re-usable, biodegradable cups made from plants (cornstarch).
