St John of God Bendigo Hospital is a division of St John of God Health Care, one of the largest providers of health care services in Australia.

St John of God Health Care acquired Mt Alvernia Mercy Hospital in February 2005, renaming it St John of God Bendigo Hospital. The private hospital services the city of Bendigo and Central Victoria.
In 2009, a survey conducted by Medibank Private reportedly found that St John of God Bendigo Hospital patients were the most satisfied Victorian hospital patients.
Facilities
The 121-bed hospital houses four theatres, one endoscopy suite, a cardiac catheritisation lab and a new critical care/intensive care unit, as well as a hydrotherapy pool and gymnasium.

Social Outreach
The hospital operates Horizon House Bendigo, which opened in 2002. The Horizon House program provides long-term accommodation, intensive support and care for young homeless people aged 16-22 years.
The Horizon house mobile canteen reportedly provides up to 100 meals per week to homeless youths in Bendigo.
