Sreekandan Nair is an Indian television anchor. He has hosted several Malayalam TV shows such as Oru Nimisham, Nammal Thammil, Janata Ki adalath, Samadooram. Sreekandan Nair was born in 1959 to N.Raman Pillai and Janaki Ammal in Kottarakara. He completed his M.A & M.Phil from the University of Kerala His daughter Charutha got married to Anuraj. Their marriage function was held on Monday, 14 December 2015.

Career

Sreekandan Nair started his career in 1983, as a Lecturer with Sree Kerala Varma College in Trichur. In 1984, he joined All India Radio as a Programme Executive. He penned and staged more than 1500 satirical radio plays, several radio dramas, and documentaries, winning him a national award for best radio documentary. During these days he also anchored the program 'Oru Nimisham', for Doordarshan.

He later joined Asianet, heading the TV content division and turned the fortunes of the channel and launched the first ever and most popular talk show on Malayalam television ‘Nammal Thammil', with an unprecedented run of 17 long years with over 750 episodes, winning accolades and endearing him to Malayalee audiences worldwide. He also conceptualized and produced several of the top rated shows on Malayalam television, expanding the reach of the channel and its operations across continents. He took over the event management division of Asianet as 'Show Director'. He organized events flawlessly catering to an audience exceeding 5 million in attendance. The events division became a profit center in itself and contributed immensely contributed to the growth and popularity of the channel. Under his leadership, he successfully conducted events and reality shows like Idea Star Singer, Munch Star Singer, Asianet Television Awards, Asianet Film Awards. etc. In the year 2003, he was promoted to the post of Senior Vice president in Asianet.

He simultaneously worked for Mazhavil Manorama as a consultant and founded the company - Magic Media Infotainment Private Limited. Under its banner, he produced and anchored the talk show - 'Samadooram'and the television serial - 'Kathayile Rajakumari' which was broadcast on Mazhavil Manorama.

Currently, he is working as the Managing Director of Flowers TV. He launched a similar talk show on the lines of ‘Nammal Thammil' under the new name 'Sreekandan Nair Show'. The programme premiered on January 4, 2016 on Flowers TV and airs on Saturdays at 10 PM.
