The Spring and Autumn Pavilions (Chinese: 春秋閣; pinyin: Chūnqiū Gé) are a Taoist temple complex located on Lotus Lake in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Like the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, the temple is special and unique. It was built in 1953 by Chi Ming palace, were two Chinese palace-style pavilions. The complex can be seen from the top of the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas.

History

Spring and Autumn Pavilions got its name from the Spring Pavilion and Autumn Pavilion, also called ‘Spring and autumn Royal Pavilion’, is a landmark for commemorating ‘The Martial Saint, Lord Kua’ and the champion of Taiwan Towers. It was selected as the one of the country's top ten beauty spot. Two towers are four stores and octagonal, green tiles and yellow walls, like an antique pagoda. There are thousands of turtle on a half-moon pond in front of the Spring and Autumn Pavilions. Looking from the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas to left side, visitors can see the Spring and Autumn Pavilion. Beside the two pavilions is 5-mile Pavilion, and they communicate with each other by 9 Bend Bridge. The bridge’ appearance is colorful and bright, and it is a good spot to lotus viewing in summer. Spring and Autumn Pavilion has surrounded by water. When the sun sets, antique pagoda reflected in the water, it’s very beautiful. There is a Guanyin statue which is riding a dragon in the front end of the Spring and Autumn Pavilions. According to local legend, the Goddess of Mercy had rode the dragon appeared in the clouds and instructs followers to build icon as the form of its coming between two pavilions; therefore, now there is a Guanyin statue which is riding a dragon.
