Spencer spit state park june 2016
Spencer Spit State Park is a 138-acre (56 ha) state-operated, public recreation area located on the east side of Lopez Island in San Juan County, Washington, USA. The park features two sand spits that join to form a briny marsh lagoon. This provides a migratory stop for waterfowl, including Bonaparte's gulls. Other local fauna include great blue herons and kingfishers.

Activities and amenitiesEdit
The park has 37 spaces for tent camping and two miles of hiking trails. For boaters, there are eleven mooring buoys on the Cascadia Marine Trail. Other recreational opportunities include swimming, fishing, clamming, diving, and beachcombing.
