Tournament

The Southland Conference Softball tournament is a double-elimination tournament held each year at various Southland Conference campus stadiums. Six of the 13 teams in the SLC make the tournament each year (University of New Orleans does not sponsor a softball team). Abilene Christian University and University of the Incarnate Word are ineligible for post season play until the 2017-18 season due to their transition from D2 to D1. If either of the two teams complete the regular season in one of the top 6 spots, the seventh and if necessary eighth teams will qualify for the tournament.

History

With the exception of the period from 1991 to 1995, the tournament has been held since 1983, when the SLC began sponsoring softball.
