The Southend Borough Combination is a football competition. It has a total of five divisions. The top division, which is called the Premier Division, sits at level 17 of the English football league system. Whilst it is not a feeder to the Essex Olympian Football League, recently several teams wanting to play at a higher level have been successful in applying to that division.

History

The competition was founded in 1920 by G.Somerville as an alternative to the Southend & District League. In the competition's 87-year history, there have only been five chairmen. Current chairman is Gary White, who is also secretary of Southend Collegians. He replaced Len Forge OBE who emigrated to France in 2004 after giving over 50 years service to the League both as chairman and secretary. The secretary position is held by Sheryl MacRae who is also the Secretary of Railway Academicals F.C.

At the beginning of the 2012–13 season the League took in many clubs from the now defunct Southend & District League and in doing so extended its playing area to all SS postcodes.
