South Wilts Grammar School for Girls is a secondary school in Salisbury, south Wiltshire, England. It is an Academy with specialist Mathematics and Computing College status.

History

Opened in 1927, the school was originally combined with Bishop Wordsworth's School, with which it still has close links.

South Wilts gained specialist status in mathematics and computing in 2003 and in 2010 the International School Award. It became an academy in 2011.

In 2009 It was the top achieving school in Salisbury, including independent schools. Entry is by a selective entrance examinations.

99.2% of students attained 5 GCSEs A*-C including English and mathematics 76% achieved the EBacc 92% of students in English made more than expected progress, 89% in science and 90% in mathematics (four levels of progress) 89% of all grades awarded were A*-A Average point score per entry – 56.27

    The school participates in many activities, especially sport: Netball, Cross Country, Swimming, Tennis, Athletics, Football, Tag Rugby, Trampolining, Dance, Badminton, Volleyball, Hockey and Gymnastics.

    Music is another area of extra-curricular activity, with the school having a Training Band, Wind Band, Orchestra, Guitar group, Junior Choir, Chamber Choir, Senior Choir and A Cappella.
