South Oakleigh Secondary College offers two languages, Japanese and Greek as part of its curriculum.
For students in year 7, it is compulsory to learn a language.
Subjects
South Oakleigh Secondary College offers core strengthening subjects from Years 7-9. From Year 10, students are given the opportunity to study VCE subjects ahead of time, alongside their core subjects (English, Maths, Science, etc.). In Year 11, students are also given the opportunity to complete Units 3&4 subjects, thus eliminating the number of subjects a student has to study in Year 12. The VCE Accelerated program has proven to be extremely successful, as it improved the scores for many of the students at South Oakleigh College.
