History

A medical facility, aimed to serve the community of Sonora and the surrounding areas, was built in 1900 as Bromley Sanitarium. Throughout the next 50 years, the medical facility changed ownership several times and in 1957, the facility relocated to a new building. Several years later, in 1961, the hospital was given to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and in 1973 joined Adventist Health. In 2004 the hospital changed its name from Sonora Community Hospital to Sonora Regional Medical Center and relocated to 1000 Greenley Road.
