She attended Vaganova Ballet Academy and moved to Hollywood, California in 2007 to pursue a career in acting.
In 2006, at the age of eighteen, Skya ranked in the top five and won the Mrs. World pageant, making her the first Russian to win this competition. The event took place in St. Petersburg, Russia
