The Smeldingi (German: Smeldingen, Polish: SmoliƄcy) was a northwestern Slavic tribe mentioned in 9th-century sources. They were one of four constituent tribes of the Vistulans, along with the Linones, Bethelici and Morizani. They lived east of the Elbe river. Obotrite prince Thrasco laid waste to their capital, and Frankish prince Charles the Younger unsuccessfully campaigned against the Linones and Smeldingi in 808.
