Slaty backed chat tyrant


The slaty-backed chat-tyrant (Ochthoeca cinnamomeiventris) is a species of bird in the tyrant flycatcher family. It is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and heavily degraded former forest.

Taxonomy

Clements splits this species, with the subspecies thoracica being raised to species level as maroon-belted chat-tyrant (Ochthoeca thoracica). The subspecies nigrita is also sometimes considered a full species, the blackish chat-tyrant (Ochthoeca nigrita).
