Origins

Hollywood United Girls Soccer (H.U.G.S.) was founded in 2006 in affiliation with the popular American men's soccer team Hollywood United Football Club as the women's arm of their club.

In 2009 it sought a new transformation to become a charity driven exhibition team and with that a name change to become Sirens of Soccer (S.O.S.). Founding members of the women's team are Beate Antares and Joy Novick.

S.O.S squad

Sirens of Soccer have been competing in the Santa Monica Adult Soccer League since 2008, and prior to that in the Southbay Sports League playing at Crossroads High School in Santa Monica, California.

Co-ed

Sirens of Soccer play with Hollywood United 7-a-side co-ed at the Santa Monica Adult Soccer League, alongside some of HUFC featured players which have included Steve Jones, Frank Leboeuf, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Olivier Biaggi.

    Charity

S.O.S is currently collaborating with Balls Without Borders (Ballswithoutborders.com) and Global Futbol Initiative, two non-profit charitable organizations that supply soccer balls to underprivileged communities throughout the world. GFI's mission is to provide enjoyment and activity to underprivileged areas throughout the world by providing futbol equipment.

S.O.S has several charitable initiatives to give back to the global community. Their most recent charity driven exhibition match was played against Vinnie Jones' Hollywood All-Star Futbol Club. It was a battle of the sexes that united everyone for a cause. The proceeds from these events enable the Sirens to directly give back to underprivileged children and spread their passion for soccer.
