About

This is situated on the NH-5 Highway and has a connectivity of the Railway line between Vijayawada and Chennai. This gives highest revenue than any other station in this line of South Central Railway in the Prakasam district. This also has been the center for transportation for all the nearby villages which are located around a distance of the 15 km from this place. Singarayakonda is near to seashore distance 5 km to Pakala beach.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census, Singarayakonda had a population of 28,675. Males constitute 48% of the population and females 52%. Singarayakonda has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 61%. In Singarayakonda, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Temples

The area is famous for the Lord Varaha Narasimha Temple, built by the Lord Devaraya in the early 15th century and later modified by Lord Srikrishnadevaraya. Other notable temples in the area are the Temple of Yoga Narasimha, a temple of Prasannajaneya, which contains a famous statue of Lord Hanuman, and ayyappa swami temple which located near old singarayakonda.

Lord Varaha Narasimha Temple is formally known as Dakshin Simhachalam.
