The label has received recognition from electronic music artists in recent years, getting playlist support from Pretty Lights, BT, and DJ Shadow and winning the Symphonic Distribution Awards for the Hardest Working Label in 2011 and the Most Forward Thinking Label in 2012. Simplify has had compilation appearances on albums from the Ministry of Sound, and has had releases appear on American television shows, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and So You Think You Can Dance. Several releases have reached #1 on the Beatport dubstep and glitch hop charts.
The name of the label is a play off the name of its founder, Aaron Simpson, who has been DJ-ing in the Pacific Northwest and the United States since 2000.
