Sikhism by country

Sikhism can be found predominantly in the Punjab region of India but Sikh communities exist on every inhabited continent, with the largest emigrant population being in Canada, with slightly more than in the United Kingdom. There are approximately 25-27 million Sikhs in the world.

Methodology

The figures on this list are either based on each of the country's respective censuses or are calculated by specific organisations. Some of these figures are rounded off. In case of conflicting estimates, both the lowest and highest estimates are included.

By region

These percentages were calculated by using the above numbers. The first percentage, 4th column, refers to the percentage of Sikhs in a region (Sikhs in the region * 100/total population of the region). The last column shows the Sikh percentage compared to the total Sikh population of the world (Sikhs in the region * 100/total Sikh population of the world).
