History

Sienna X was founded by Nicola Matthews in 2004 as The Spray Tan Cubicle Company. After setting up a spray tanning business, Nicola noticed that the sunless tanning industry was missing an important element - a mobile booth for therapists to use within clients' homes. This led to the development of the Spray Tan Cubicle, of which sienna X still hold the original patents for the design.

With considerable knowledge of the industry, Nicola created a full offering for the Spray Tan Cubicle Company, and went on to develop a fully supported sunless tanning brand which incorporated education, marketing and business support to salons and mobile therapists.

In 2008 the Sienna X brand was begun.

In March 2013, Sienna X came to an agreement with Marks and Spencer to sell the core retail range on the high street for the first time in the company's history. The Sienna X tanning brand will sit alongside a wide range of independent brands following a major revamp of the M&S beauty department.
